TCR Middle East - René Münnich sets pole for round 1

René Münnich puts the #77 Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic TCR on pole position on Dubai Autodrome

The German championship contender René Münnich set the pole lap on the International circuit configuration with a time of 1:46.087 for race 1 and 2 of the TCR Middle East Series 2019.

"My best time was in lap 3. Pole position is a good result. Expectations for the race? Just fun! This is the reason why we are here, fun!" René Münnich said. “It was my first time on Hankook tires. I was surprised that lap-by-lap the performance was increasing and the tire could set the best lap not in the first but third round.”

The second-best lap time was set by the Dutchman Luc Breukers, who is celebrating his first international outing this weekend. In the end he set a lap time of 1:47.510 in the #101 Red Cupra TCR

During race 1, René Münnich will start with his #77 Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic TCR from pole position on Friday, 25 January at 14:45 local time.

The starting grid of race 2 sees the qualifying result in reverse order. Zoltán Zengő will start from pole with the #8 Cupra TCR for the Hungarian outfit of Zengő Motorsport at 17:15 local time.
